Aug. 04--A 44-year-old man was shot dead Monday night in Gary, authorities said.
Alec McCloud, of the 2100 block of Delaware Street in Gary, was shot multiple times in the 500 block of Roosevelt Street, according to the Lake County coroner's office. In a release, Gary police said that they had received a call about 7:53 p.m. Monday about a gunshot victim and when they arrived at the scene, found McCloud sitting in his vehicle with gunshot wounds.
He was taken to Methodist Hospital's Northlake Campus, where he was pronounced dead about 9:15 p.m.
Police said they have a person in custody. The Gary Violent Crimes Unit is investigating.
