Nov. 22--A 29-year-old man was killed and at least one other person was wounded in city shootings since Saturday evening.
The fatal shooting occurred in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood about 8:30 p.m., police said.
The man was in the 6200 block of South Rockwell Street when he was shot in the head, Chicago police spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The shooting may have been a drive-by, Alfaro said.
At 3:10 a.m. Sunday, a 24-year-old man was critically wounded in a shooting in Roseland, said Chicago police spokeswoman Officer Amina Greer.
He was in the 100 block of West 109th Street when someone walked up and shot him in the neck. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn critical condition.
Police initially said a woman had not been shot in Humboldt Park, but after further investigation found that she had been not been, according to Chicago police spokesman Officer Jose Estrada.
The woman, 40, was arguing with a neighbor in the 1000 block of North Hamlin Avenue at about 1:15 a.m. She banged on her neighbor's window and broke the glass, cutting her hand.
At the same time, the woman's relatives heard what they thought was gunfire, and noticed that the woman's hand was bleeding.
Police investigation confirmed that the woman had not been shot.
