BRIEF: Man shot and killed in South L.A.

Oct. 25--Authorities are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed in South Los Angeles on Saturday evening.

The man, believed to be 25 to 30 years old, was standing outside in the 600 block of East 83rd Street in the neighborhood of Florence around 10:05 p.m. when two suspects approached the man and opened fire, said LAPD Officer Rosario Herrera.

The man died at the scene, she said.

It is unknown if the shooting is gang-related, Herrera said, but other media have reported that the two suspects asked the victim with whom does he "run" before shooting.

The cornoner's office has not released the name of the victim.
