Jan. 22--A Lake in the Hills man is prison-bound after he was sentenced Thursday for what authorities said was his fifth DUI offense.
David Ciengi, 52, was sentenced in McHenry County court to four years in prison but is expected to serve half that with day-for-day credit.
Authorities said Ciengi was pulled over in April 2013 and told police he had consumed three tall Jim Beam and Cokes. He failed a roadside sobriety test and refused to take a Breathalyzer, officials said.
Ciengi was found guilty of DUI in the case in December. Prosecutors said he had four prior DUI convictions, the most recent in 1993.
