Oct. 16--A man armed with a gun robbed a credit union in the West Rogers Park neighborhood Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
FBI agents were dispatched to First Financial Credit Union, 2942 W. Peterson Ave., following a robbery there, according to a spokeswoman for the agency's Chicago office.
The robbery happened about 4:30 p.m., said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.
The man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note, Lemmon said. At some point, he showed a handgun. He was given cash and left the bank.
Authorities revised the description of the robber Thursday evening, saying he was a black man 30 to 40 years old, 6 feet to 6-foot-4 and weighing 220 to 250 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, a blue and white striped shirt and khakis, and had scruffy facial hair.
Anyone with information on the robber is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700, or 911.
