BRIEF: Man robs bank on Far North Side

June 26--A man robbed a West Rogers Park bank Friday morning, authorities said.

The Fifth Third Bank branch, 6131 N. Lincoln Ave., was robbed at 10:14 a.m., according to the FBI.

The man walked into the bank, went up to a teller and demanded cash, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman. The teller complied with the man's demands and he fled, Pacheco said.

There was no weapon displayed and no one was injured.

The robber was described as a black man in his late 40s to early 50s, standing about 5-foot-10, with a black hat, black pants and black shoes. Although the FBI described the man's shirt as a black-and-white button-down shirt, and police said it was beige, surveillance photos of the robber show the shirt was a short-sleeve button-down shirt with a plaid pattern that appeared to include beige, black and white, and possibly green.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-412-6700.
