BRIEF: Man robs bank at Northwest Side grocery store

March 01--Authorities on Monday released surveillance photos of a man who robbed a bank in an Oriole Park neighborhood grocery store.

The man robbed the TCF Bank in a Jewel-Osco at 7342 W. Foster Ave. about 11:30 a.m. Sunday, according to police and the FBI.

The man walked into the bank, demanded money from the teller and implied he had a weapon, said Officer Bari Lemmon, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

The man took cash from the teller, then fled out of the store and was last seen running south on foot, Lemmon said.

The man was described as white, about 50 to 60 years old, about 5-foot-9 and about 180 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a black hat with a Comcast Sportsnet logo, a black zip-up sweater, black gloves, a red T-shirt and black sunglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to called the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
