Aug. 04--A man was stabbed in the Loop early Tuesday, police said.

A person described as a homeless man in his 40s was fighting with another homeless man over a place to sleep near West Lake and North Dearborn streets about 1:45 a.m., authorities said.

During the fight, one man stabbed the other man in the arm. The wounded man walked to the 100 block of West Randolph Street, near City Hall and the Thompson Center.

He went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, said Officer Ron Gaines, a Chicago Police Department spokesman.
