BRIEF: Man killed, woman injured in shootout outside San Gabriel Valley restaurant, authorities say

April 20--A man was killed and a woman injured Tuesday night in a shooting outside a restaurant in the San Gabriel Valley's unincorporated Bassett area, authorities said.

At least two people were involved in a gunfight in the 13100 block of Valley Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's Lt. Joe Mendoza told KTLA-TV that the shooting took place at an outdoor patio of the El Jalisco Caf鮠A taco truck set up in the restaurant's parking lot was busy with customers at the time, KTLA reported.

A man who was shot in the upper torso was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff's department. Authorities have not yet released his name.

Deputies arriving at the scene also found a woman with a gunshot wound to her lower body; she was taken to a hospital for treatment, authorities said.

There was no information on a suspect early Wednesday, the sheriff's department said in a statement.
