BRIEF: Man killed in car crash on Northwest Side

Aug. 14--A 66-year-old man died after two cars crashed late Thursday evening in the Edgebrook neighborhood on the Northwest Side, authorities said.

The accident happened around 11:22 p.m. while two cars were traveling eastbound in the 5200 block of West Devon Avenue, according to police and fire officials.

The 66-year-old man, who was driving one of the cars, was taken in critical condition to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, said Chicago Fire Department Chief Juan Hernandez.

The man later died at the hospital.

No other people were taken to hospital as a result of the crash, Hernandez said.

As of early Friday, no other details were available about the accident.
