BRIEF: Man in critical condition after car crash in West Town

April 09--A 37-year-old man was in critical condition after he lost control of his car and crashed early Thursday in the Fulton River District neighborhood in West Town, police said.

The crash happened about 3:10 a.m. in the 600 block of North Milwaukee Avenue, said Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro.

The man appeared to have lost control of his car, striking a pole and a parked truck, Alfaro said.

He was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, Alfaro said.

No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Early Thursday, CTA officials were rerouting the No. 56 bus because of the accident.
