BRIEF: Man found with critical head injuries on North Side

Nov. 16--A 36-year-old man was critically hurt after receiving head injuries early Monday on the North Side, police said.

Police officers discovered the man lying on the ground next to a vehicle in the 2000 block of North Elston Avenue in the Logan Square community area around 2:05 a.m., said Chicago police spokeswoman Officer Amina Greer, citing preliminary information.

The man suffered injuries after receiving a blunt trauma to the head, but how he got injured was still unknown as of early Monday, Greer said.

He was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, Greer said.

No other information about the incident was immediately available.
