Nov. 23--Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 35-year-old man found inside a Compton home early Saturday.
Los Angeles County coroner's officials identified the victim as Darrell Lynn Echols of Los Angeles.
Deputies responded around 2:14 a.m. to reports of shots fired inside a home in the 2600 block of West 134th Street, according to a Sheriff's Department statement.
The man had been shot in the upper body, deputies said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
