Feb. 04--A man was found dead on the tracks of the CTA Blue Line south of the Division Street Station on Wednesday morning, officials said.
Police were called to the Blue Line subway between the Chicago Avenue and Division Street stations at 10:23 a.m. and found a man, believed to be in his 20s, dead on the tracks, Chicago police spokesman Officer Jose Estrada said.
Preliminary information indicates the man may have died in a suicide. Area Central detectives are investigating and were awaiting results of an autopsy expected to be performed Thursday, Estrada said.
A spokesman for the Chicago Fire Department said the person was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to CTA spokeswoman Catherine Hosinski, the agency was alerted about 10:30 a.m. to a person on the tracks. Trains in both directions were briefly bypassing Division. As of 11:45 a.m., service was fully restored.
