BRIEF: Autopsy: Man found dead in port-a-potty in Cragin neighborhood is latest cold death

Jan. 09--A man who was found dead in a port-a-potty on the Northwest Side Wednesday afternoon is the season's latest cold death, authorities said.

Marek Bobak, 51, died of coronary artery atherosclerosis and a secondary cause was hypothermia due to cold exposure, according to an autopsy performed Thursday. His death was ruled an accident.

Bobak, whose last known address was not immediately known, was discovered inside a portable toilet in the 2900 block of North Central Avenue in the Cragin neighborhood around 2 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and police.

He was pronounced dead at 2:15 p.m. at the scene, according to the medical examiner.

The man did not have signs of obvious trauma.

Police are conducting a death investigation.
