May 07--A 23-year-old man was shot to death early Thursday morning in south suburban Sauk Village, authorities said.
Manuel G. Montoya suffered a gunshot wound in the 1800 block of East 222nd Place and was taken to St. Margaret Hospital in Indiana where he was pronounced dead at 2 a.m., according to a statement from Lake County coroner's office.
The man's death was ruled a homicide, according to the coroner's office.
Montoya lived in the 1700 block of West 220th Place in Sauk Village, about half a mile from where he was killed, according to the coroner's office.
No other information about the shooting was immediately available.
