Dec. 13--A 34-year-old Bellwood man was fatally shot in west suburban Maywood early Friday morning, police said.
Officers responding to the 800 block of South 11th Avenue at about 12:30 a.m. found a Cadillac crashed into a tree with two men inside. One of the men, Willie Ellis, had been shot in the head. Both men were taken to Loyola University Medical Center, and Ellis was pronounced dead at 12:52 a.m.
According to an autopsy conducted Saturday by the Cook County Medical Examer's office Elllis died of a gunshot wound to his head and his death was ruled a homicide, according to the office.
His death was ruled a homicide by gunshot wound, and police are conducting a homicide investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to call 708-450-4471.
