April 16--A 26-year-old man was shot to death Friday evening in Gary in northwest Indiana, police said.
Derrick Walker was shot about 9:13 p.m. in the street in front of a residence in the 4200 block of West 23rd Avenue, according to news releases from the Gary Police Department and from the Lake County coroner's office.
Walker, of the 500 block of Hamlin Street in Gary, was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m. at the scene, the release said. His death was ruled as a homicide.
