BRIEF: Man extradited from Wisconsin for fatal shooting in Chicago Lawn

Nov. 11--A Southwest Side man was extradited from Wisconsin and charged in a July shooting that killed a man and seriously injured a woman in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood, police said.

Keith Martin, 47, of the 6200 block of South Rockwell Street, is charged with first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and aggravated discharge of a firearm in the July 12 shooting, police said.

Martin was arguing with a man and a woman on the block where he lived shortly before 2 a.m., police said. He pulled out a gun and shot the woman, 50, in the chest and the man, 27, twice in the chest, according to police.

Killed was Addarius Thompson, who also lived on the 6200 block of South Rockwell, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and the man was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he died, police said.

Martin appeared Monday in Central Bond Court, where he was denied bail.
