May 25--A motorcyclist died after a crash this weekend on the Northwest Side, authorities said.
Thomas Gilleran, 65, was injured in a crash in the 5700 block of North Canfield Avenue and pronounced dead at 9:06 a.m. Saturday at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Gilleran, of the 3500 block of North Octavia Avenue, was injured Friday night, according to police. He died of injuries suffered in the crash, the medical examiner's office determined Sunday after an autopsy.
The motorcyclist was heading south on Canfield about 11 p.m. Friday when he hit a curb and crashed, injuring him, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman. News Affairs was releasing no further information on the crash.
