BRIEF: Man, 70, dies after his car hits pole in Ashburn

Nov. 24--A 70-year-old man died when he crashed into a light pole in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Sunday night, police said.

The crash occurred around 10:35 p.m. near 79th Street and Kedzie Avenue, according to Chicago police.

The man, identified as Algimantas Bartkus, was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, according to police and the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Bartkus, of the 2500 block of West 69th Street, was pronounced dead at 11:15 p.m., according to the medical examiner's office.

No other details were available.
