BRIEF: Man dies after falling from Near North Side hotel

Nov. 24--A 21-year-old west suburban man died after falling several stories from a downtown hotel early Sunday morning, authorities said.

The man, from Western Springs according to the Cook County medical examiner's office, was found unresponsive on a sidewalk in the 300 block of East Ohio Street around 1 a.m., said Chicago Police news affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

The man fell at least from the 10th floor of the building, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed the fatality.

The man died from multiple blunt force injuries suffered in a fall from heights, and his death was ruled a suicide, according to the medical examiner.

Police News Affairs had no updates on the Area Central death investigation Sunday evening.
