BRIEF: Man dies after being ejected from SUV in Will County

Oct. 17--A 27-year-old man was found dead in a Will County cornfield Friday morning after he apparently was ejected from his sport utility vehicle after it rolled off a road, police said.

The man was discovered about 6:30 a.m. nearly 80 feet from a red Ford SUV along Pauling Road near Barten Road in unincorporated Manhattan Township, according to Will County Sheriff's police.

Will County Coroner Patrick O'Neill identified the man Saturday as David Revus, 27, of Manhattan.

He was pronounced dead at 8:40 a.m. Friday. Autopsy revealed injuries consistent with an automobile crash. Final cause and manner will be determined after toxicology and other tests.

Arrangements are being made at Steger memorial chapel.

Will County Sheriff's Police Sgt. Vince Gambino said it appeared to be a single-vehicle incident, and the man was the only person in the vehicle, according to Deputy Chief Tom Budde.

Officials did not know what time the incident occurred.

Pauling at that location is a gravel road with soft shoulders.
