May 09--A man who was among three people wounded in a shooting near a gas station in the Grand Crossing neighborhood last month died two weeks after being shot, authorities said Sunday.

Devan Watson, 24, was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday at Northwestern Memorial Hospital after he was shot in the head April 21 in the 7600 block of South South Chicago Avenue, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Watson, of the 1000 block of East 41st Place, was one of two men critically wounded and a woman shot about 10:45 p.m. April 21 near a BP gas station.

The three were traveling in a vehicle in the 7600 block of South South Chicago Avenue when a male assailant fired shots from another vehicle, police said at the time.

Watson was shot in the back of the neck and a 27-year-old man was also hit in the neck.

The woman, 21, was grazed in the right arm, and she was taken to Jackson Park Hospital, where her condition was stabilized.

Information on whether someone has been arrested in connection with the shooting was not immediately available Sunday.
