BRIEF: Man critically wounded in stabbing at CTA Pink Line station

Oct. 30--A 21-year-old man was critically wounded in a stabbing Thursday morning at the California Avenue station on the CTA's Pink Line, police said.

A group of people were involved in a shouting match about 10 a.m. at the train station in the 2000 block of South California Avenue. Soon after, a man was stabbed in the chest, back and stomach, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a spokesman for Chicago police.

The man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and was in critical condition, Sweeney said.

No one was in custody for the attack, and Area Central detectives were investigating.
