Dec. 28--Three men were injured in separate shootings Sunday on the South and West sides, Chicago police said.
In the latest incident, a 35-year-old man was shot at 8:15 p.m. on the 6700 block of South Marshfield Avenue in the West Englewood neighborhood, said Officer Veejay Zala, a police spokesman.
The man was shot in the arm and managed to get to Holy Cross Hospital, where his condition had stabilized, Zala said. The man may have been injured in a drive-by shooting, police said, adding that he was a known gang member.
About 4:55 p.m., an 18-year-old man was hurt in a shooting in the Humboldt Park neighborhood on the West Side, Chicago Police Department spokesman Officer Hector Alfaro said.
The man was in the 3800 block of West Division Street when someone came out of a white van and started shooting at him, Alfaro said.
The man was shot in the right side of his abdomen and in the right arm. He was taken to Norwegian American Hospital, where he was listed in good condition, Alfaro said.
Earlier, a 37-year-old man was shot and critically wounded in the Gresham neighborhood, police said.
The shooting happened at 11:15 a.m. in the 8700 block of South May Street, according to Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago police spokeswoman.
The man, who was shot in the chest, was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, but his condition had stabilized, Pacheco said.
