March 22--A man was critically injured after being pistol-whipped in a Far South Side motel room late Monday, police said.
The man, whose age was not available, let two people into his room in the 9200 block of South Stony Island Avenue about 11:30 p.m.
They pistol-whipped him and stole his car, police said.
The man was taken in critical condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
Police initially said the man had been shot, but that information was later corrected.
