April 23--A man was critically injured in a two-vehicle crash on the Dan Ryan Expressway early Thursday, authorities said.
The man, who is about 40, was driving in the southbound lanes of the Dan Ryan about 3:30 a.m. when he crashed into another vehicle near 87th Street, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Rodney Collins.
The man had severe injuries and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, Collins said. No one in the vehicle struck by the motorist was injured.
Just before 7 a.m., crews had cleared the vehicles from the southbound lanes, allowing normal traffic to resume for the morning commute.
Early Thursday, police were still investigating the accident.
