Sept. 18--A man in his 70s was critically injured after being hit by a vehicle on the Northwest Side early Friday, police said.
He was crossing the street in the 6900 block of West Belmont Avenue just before 4 a.m. when he was hit by someone driving westbound on Belmont, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police spokeswoman
He sustained serious head trauma and went to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition, Pacheco said. The driver was not injured.
