Jan. 16--A worker at a warehouse in the Back of the Yards neighborhood was critically hurt after a fire erupted inside the building early Saturday, authorities said.
The blaze started about 2 a.m. inside a warehouse on the 4100 block of South Peoria Street, Chicago Fire Department Cmdr. Walter Schroeder said.
Firefighters responded to the fire and struck it out within several minutes.
A man who worked inside the building was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition. He suffered burns as a result of the fire, Schroeder said.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
