BRIEF: Man charged with smashing Mason jar on fellow bar patron's head

Oct. 25--An Oak Park man smashed a Mason jar over another patron's face at a Lakeview restaurant last month, leaving the victim with 33 stitches and nerve damage, according to prosecutors.

Connor Adaire, 22, was out with friends at Old Crow Smokehouse, 3506 N. Clark St., when the incident happened about 2:30 a.m. on Sept. 20, according to court and police records.

Another patron walked up to a friend of Adaire's to try and take away the friend's drink, prosecutors said.

Adaire ended up hitting the victim in the face with a Mason jar, requiring 33 stitches and also causing a concussion, according to police reports.

Adaire, of the 900 block of North East Avenue in Oak Park, was charged with aggravated battery causing great bodily harm and was ordered held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
