March 08--A west suburban man has been arrested after police say he forced his way into a North Side home while posing as a police officer and attacked another man there.
According to a release from the Chicago Police Department Office of News Affairs, Joseph Benson, 23, of the 0-100 block of Cherrywood Court in Indian Head Park, is charged with home invasion and impersonating a police officer.
The incident occurred about 2 a.m. Saturday in the 2600 block of N. Mildred Avenue in the Wrightwood Neighbors neighborhood, the release said. Police responded to the report of a disturbance there and said that Benson had forced his way into a home at that location and had attacked a 41-year-old man while claiming to be a police officer.
