BRIEF: Man charged with DUI after crash that injured 3

Feb. 29--An Englewood man is facing multiple DUI charges after police say he caused a crash that put three people, including two boys, in the hospital, according to a news release.

Ricky Pearson, 27, was driving near the intersection of Lake and Hamlin streets on Saturday at 6:25 a.m. when he ran a red light, according to police.

He crashed into a car in the intersection, and that car hit a pole. Two boys were ejected from the vehicle that was hit and seriously injured. The driver of that vehicle suffered minor injuries. All were taken to area hospitals.

Pearson, of the 5600 block of South Morgan Street, faces three felony counts of aggravated DUI, two misdemeanor DUI charges, a charge of driving on a suspended license and various traffic citations. He is expected to appear in court Monday.
