BRIEF: Man charged in shooting of woman in South Shore

Jan. 31--A South Side man is accused of shooting a woman in October in the South Shore neighborhood, police said.

Joshua M. King, 25, of the 2600 block of East 73rd Street, was charged with aggravated battery, police said.

A judge on Friday set bail for King at $300,000 and set his next court date for Feb. 4, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.

King was identified as the shooter who wounded a 22-year-od woman Oct. 27 about 9:40 a.m. in the 7600 block of South Coles Avenue, police said.

She was released from Advocate Trinity Hospital where she was treated for a gunshot wound to the leg, police said.
