March 20--An 18-year-old man is facing charges after police say he shot a 17-year-old girl this week.
Shelby Crawford, of the 1200 block of West 108th Street, was charged with one felony count of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and one felony count of aggravated battery of discharging a firearm, according to a Chicago police statement.
Police said Crawford was identified as the person who shot a girl, 17, about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 1300 block of West 111th Street.
The girl was shot in the chest and taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she was listed in serious condition.
Crawford is expected to appear in bond court Friday afternoon.
