BRIEF: Man charged after woman's death in Montclare neighborhood

April 09--A 33-year-old man was charged with murder Thursday afternoon in the death of a 56-year-old woman who was found dead Wednesday in her Northwest Side apartment.

Robert Hill of the 1400 block of South Hamlin Avenue was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Sandra Fellows. Fellows, of the 6600 block of West Belden Avenue, was found inside her apartment where she was pronounced dead shortly before 5 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Officers found Fellows shortly before 3 p.m. while responding to a call at the Belden Avenue location, said police.

Hill was arrested after he was identified as the person responsible for Fellows' death.

An autopsy Thursday afternoon revealed the cause of death was asphyxiation, and her death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner's office.

Hill was scheduled to appear Friday afternoon in court for a bail hearing.
