May 02--A man was arrested after robbing a West Loop bank Monday afternoon, authorities said.
The Chase Bank branch, 300 S. Riverside Plaza, was robbed about 1:15 p.m., according to the FBI.
A man walked into the bank and handed a teller note, implying that he had a weapon, but did not show one, said Officer Thomas Sweeney, a police spokesman.
The teller complied with the demands of the note and the man escaped on foot, Sweeney said.
The man believed to be the robber was later captured, according to FBI spokesman Garrett Croon.
The robber was described as a black man, in his 30s to 50s, stabding 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall, with a slender build. He was wearing a North Face hooded jacket, a blue and black flannel shirt, and dark colored jeans.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
