BRIEF: Man, 74, with Alzheimer's disease missing on South Side

Jan. 09--Police are asking for the public's help locating a man with Alzheimer's disease who went missing Friday morning on the South Side in the city's West Englewood neighborhood.

Charles Washington, 74, was last seen in the 2100 block of West 72nd Place about 6:30 a.m. Friday and was last spoken to on the same day about noon. He was wearing a light-brown leather coat with a matching hat, police said.

Washington wears glasses and was carrying his wallet with a picture ID. Police said he has a condition that causes tumorous growths on his head.

He is described as a black man with a dark complexion, a bald head and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs about 210 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Chicago Police Area South Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274.
