BRIEF: Man, 62, went missing on South Side

May 06--Police are asking for the public's help locating a man who went missing Thursday on the South Side in the city's Beverly neighborhood.

Bart Bates, 62, was last seen in the area of the 8800 block of South Leavitt Street. He was wearing blue jeans, a gray T-shirt, tan shoes and a brown jacket with a hood, police said.

Bates was driving a black 2010 Honda sport utility vehicle with Illinois license plates L577311.

He was described as a white man with a medium complexion, gray hair and hazel eyes. He is 5 feet 7 inches tall, and weighs about 175 pounds, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact the Area South Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274.
