BRIEF: Man, 46, stabbed in River North

Nov. 18--A 46-year-old man was stabbed during a robbery on the Near North Side Monday night, police said.

The man was stabbed about 10:20 p.m. near North Dearborn Avenue and West Superior Street, said Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Ron Gaines.

The victim was on the street when another man approached him with a knife, demanded money and then stabbed him twice in his chest, Gaines said.

The 46-year-old was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where his condition stabilized, police said.

As of early Tuesday, no one was in custody in connection with the stabbing.
