Oct. 29--A 45-year-old man was found fatally shot Tuesday evening in Hammond, officials said.
The man was found shot in the 800 block of State State on Tuesday, according to the Lake County coroner's office.
The 45-year-old was taken to St. Margaret's Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:14 p.m., according to the coroner's office.
Officials there identified the man as Martin Hurtado and said he lived at the address where he was found shot to death.
Hurtado's death was ruled a homicide. Hammond police could not immediately provide details surrounding the shooting.
