BRIEF: Body found in forest is man reported missing in Arlington Heights

Feb. 10--Officials with the Cook County Sheriff's office said Wednesday that a body found in a Barrington Hills forest preserve is a man who was reported missing earlier this week from Arlington Heights.

The body of the 38-year-old man was located at roughly 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning by an employee of Cook County's Spring Lake Forest Preserve in Barrington Hills, Cook County Sheriff's Office Spokeswoman Sophia Ansari said.

The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office, Ansari said.

The man was last seen at his Arlington Heights home by a family member at 4:30 a.m. Monday, police said.

His vehicle was located by the Cook County Forest Preserve Police Monday evening at the intersection of Donlea Road and Bateman Road in Barrington Hills, prompting a search of the densely wooded area by the Arlington Heights Police, Cook County Sheriff's office and the Forest Preserve, with assistance from the Department of Homeland Security.
