BRIEF: Man, 37, went missing 2 days ago in the Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood

May 24--A man who has a cognitive disability went missing two days ago after he left his backyard in the city's Greater Grand Crossing neighborhood.

Maurice Thompson, 37, was last seen Sunday in his backyard in the 7800 block of South Stewart Avenue, police said.

Thompson is known to frequent the area between the 7600 to 8100 blocks of South State and Halsted streets.

He is described as a black man with a medium complexion, black hair and brown eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall, weighs about 150 pounds and has a scar in the middle of his forehead, police said.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911 or contact the Chicago Police Area South Special Victims Unit at 312-747-8274.
