BRIEF: Man, 22, shot in Woodlawn

March 20--A man was shot in the Woodlawn neighborhood on the city's South Side early Friday.

About 12:30 a.m., a 22-year-old man walked into the University of Chicago Medical Center after he had been shot in his neck, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Police were still investigating but believe the man was shot in the 6200 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, Greer said. The man then drove himself to the hospital.

The man's condition was later stabilized, but due to his injuries, he could not provide police with details of the shooting.

Hours earlier, a 24-year-old man was fatally shot in the Humboldt Park neighborhood. The man was shot about 8 p.m. in the 900 block of North Mozart Street, police said.
