Sept. 08--Mammoths and mastodons stopped walking the earth thousands of years ago, but they will be around at the Field Museum for a few months longer. The exhibition "Mammoths and Mastodons: Titans of the Ice Age" has been extended through Jan. 3, 2016 "due to popular demand," the museum announced Tuesday.
The extensive exploration of the lives of these ancient elephant relatives debuted at the Field in 2010 and has traveled extensively since, before beginning a return engagement in May. It had been scheduled to close at the end of this week.
