Dec. 10--"MADtv" alumni, including some with ties to Chicago, will reunite for the 20th anniversary of the Fox sketch comedy series in a one-hour special scheduled to air next month on The CW, network reps announced Wednesday.
"Sisters" co-star Ike Barinholtz, who grew up in Lakeview; "Getting On" star Alex Borstein, a Highland Park native raised in Deerfield; and Second City alumnus Keegan-Michael Key, of "Key Peele" fame, are among the "MADtv" stars who will appear in the retrospective slated to air at 7 p.m. Jan. 12.
Other former cast members featured in the reunion include Artie Lange ("The Howard Stern Show"); Second City alumni Phil LaMarr ("Robot Chicken"), Stephnie Weir ("Life in Pieces"), and Nicole Parker ("Funny People"); Chicago native Aries Spears ("Promoted") and downstate native Crista Flanagan ("Mad Men").
"MADtv" aired from 1995-2009. The CW will make 75 episodes of "MADtv" available for streaming on CW Seed starting Jan. 5.
