BRIEF: Mace, guns used during robberies of businesses on Northwest Side

Feb. 11--Authorities are looking for the men who sprayed mace on their victims during two armed robberies of small businesses on the same Albany Park neighborhood block, police said.

The most recent attack happened Feb. 7 in the 3800 block of West Lawrence Avenue at 5:18 p.m. when two masked men stormed into a business and robbed it, spraying mace on people inside while brandishing a handgun, police said.

Both of these attackers men wearing ski masks and gloves. One was wearing a dark jacket and the other had on a black hooded sweatshirt. One of them had a gun, police said.

The earlier robbery happened Nov. 28 at 5:18 p.m. in the same block when three gunmen all wearing black hooded sweatshirts, ski masks, and gloves, entered a business and robbed it, police said. As they left the store, they sprayed people inside with mace, police said.

During both attacks, the robbers demanded money and took cash from desk drawers or file cabinets, police said.

Police did not share a detailed description of what the attackers looked like.
