BRIEF: MAC West honor for Northern Illinois WR Kenny Golladay

Sept. 07--Northern Illinois wide receiver Kenny Golladay has earned Mid-American Conference honors after Saturday's splashy debut.

The Huskie junior was named MAC West Division Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after catching nine passes for 213 yards in last the 38-30 season-opening win over UNLV.

Golladay had receptions from quarterback Drew Hare of 41, 48 and 48 yards and helped set up the Huskies' three second-half touchdowns.

His 213 yards are tied for sixth highest in Northern Illinois history and the most since Martell Moore had 224 yards in the 2012 GoDaddy.com Bowl.

Golladay, a St. Rita graduate who transferred from North Dakota, became eligible this season after sitting out a year.
