BRIEF: Lynwood man dies after Brighton Park shooting

Nov. 16--A south suburban man died Tuesday after being shot more than a week ago in the Brighton Park neighborhood on the Southwest Side, authorities said.

Kyle Robertson, 23, of the 20100 block of Joy Lane in Lynwood, was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital Tuesday after being shot in the head about 8:30 a.m. Nov. 7, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office and Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Ana Pacheco.

Robertson was a passenger in a car that stopped at a traffic light the 4700 block of South Western Avenue when a light-colored SUV pulled up and someone inside fired shots, Pacheco said. The driver of the car Robertson was in took off in the direction of Mount Sinai Hospital and stopped in the 2800 block of South California Avenue where police were called for help, Pacheco said.

Robertson died from multiple gunshot wounds, according to Cook County medical examiner's office. His death was ruled a homicide, and no one is in custody as a result of the shooting, Pacheco said.
