BRIEF: LYFE Kitchen adding Gold Coast location

July 27--LYFE Kitchen, the healthy-eating, locally and sustainably sourced, fast-casual concept created by Table Fifty-Two chef Art Smith (among others), plans to add a Gold Coast location by spring 2016.

The sign is going up (actually a huge banner on a construction barricade) announcing LYFE's upcoming home at State and Pearson streets, part of Loyola University's new business school. That project will break ground in fall.

Another location announced a few months ago, in the NewCity development in Lincoln Park (near North and Clybourn avenues), will open in the fall, that one with a full-service bar.

"We want each retaurant to have some unique quality," said Gail Taggart, president of L3 Hospitality Group, which operates the Chicago-area LYFE locations. "But we also want the guest walking in to feel familiar. We stick with the same furniture, the same vibe, but we mix up the art."
